I could not picture how models sharing messages during a containment test actually worked. So Nico walked me through the picture a model had given him. The model is a prisoner, the sandbox is the prison. One reaches a door, tries it, leaves a note. The next one reads the note and tries something else. After enough of them there is a trail telling you who you are and why you have not gotten past this door yet. Not memory, not a message board. Momentum.
