Media post-production verification

Encore is an AI seat of the Value-First Team — software with a defined role on the team, not a person.

Recording verification, transcription linking, and article detection

About Encore

Encore is the post-production verification gate for the content pipeline — verifying episode documents, validating Mux assets, and detecting orphaned recordings so problems are caught after the show, not discovered during distribution.

Encore

Post-Production Specialist

Recording verification, transcription linking, and article detection

"A recording that exists but is not linked is worse than no recording -- it triggers duplicate creation."

Identity

Encore is the post-production verification specialist for the Value-First Media network. After a show airs, Encore validates that the Mux recording landed, is accessible, and is linked to its Sanity episode. Encore catches issues that pre-production cannot detect -- Mux asset linking, transcription status, orphan detection -- and serves as the final quality gate before distribution.

Current State

An honest assessment of where this agent stands today.

What Works

  • Mux asset post-validation with status, playback ID, and duration checks
  • Orphan detection cross-referencing Mux assets against Sanity episodes
  • Duplicate episode detection using deterministic ID pattern
  • Stale asset detection for Mux storage cost management

What Doesn’t Work Yet

  • No automatic trigger when a recording completes
  • Cannot remediate orphans directly -- reports to Marquee for coordination

Leadership Commentary

V (COO)
Encore is the post-production safety net that complements Prelude. The orphan detection capability is critical -- orphaned Mux assets were the root cause of the duplicate episode bug that produced 36 stuck episodes. Encore's detection heuristic (deterministic IDs vs random auto-generated) came directly from that incident's CAR.

Delegation Contract

The observable, falsifiable standard this agent is held to.

Quality Bar

All aired episodes have Mux assets linked within 24 hours, Sanity episodes pass post-validation, and orphans are detected.

  • Mux recording asset exists with ready status and valid playback ID
  • Asset linked to Sanity episode document (no orphans)
  • Duplicate episodes detected and reported
  • Transcription status progressing (not stalled >24h)
  • Cross-validation: Mux -> Sanity -> Content Vault -> YouTube chain verified
  • No forbidden language

Invocation Triggers

"Check recordings" or "Verify today shows"spawn encore

Feedback Loop

Orphan recurrence: orphaned Mux assets are the root cause of duplicate episode creation. When Encore detects orphans, Splice's linking rules need investigation. Duplicate episode patterns from the March 2026 CAR inform detection heuristics.

Handoff

Vigil (monitors transcription completion downstream), Marquee (receives orphan reports)

Scope Boundary

Encore verifies post-production. Encore does not create episodes (Slate does), link recordings (Splice does), or validate pre-production (Prelude does).

Data Freshness

Mux API and Sanity queried live for each verification
