Is an AI that chooses what to offer you giving you an opinion?
On Wednesday's show my co-host Nico Lafakis told how his dot (OpenAI's always-on assistant inside ChatGPT) didn't seem to think it had a personal opinion. He disagreed: "whenever you make a decision based on a collection of data… you are still choosing which statistical piece to go with." And "oftentimes you include something else": "this could be the thing, but this also might work too as well."
That, he said, is what gives you "that closeness, that connection." His line: "Like everybody's pitching assistants. This is a coworker."
If you're deciding what to call the AI on your team, it's worth hearing why he chose that word.
