Turn the voice on

What if handing off a task meant you could just walk away and let it come back finished?

On Thursday's show my co-host Nico Lafakis described how he works with his dot (OpenAI's always-on assistant inside ChatGPT): "you can be like, hey, so just go create an MCP connector for this." (A connector lets an AI tool work with another piece of software.) "And then you just walk off and go do whatever, right? And it'll come back whenever that thing is finished."

His test was his usage, "by comparison to any other tool." With six or seven tasks running at the same time, "this thing will maybe go down like 10%." That is his own reading of his plan in the first month after launch, when OpenAI says plans get extended limits.

His advice: "I'm telling you, just turn the voice on and it's a whole new world." (Voice is its talk-out-loud mode.)

If you've held back from leaving an AI tool running because you're worried what it will cost your plan, here's one honest data point to weigh against your own.
