Where AI should not decide first, in practice
October 7, 2026
"Where humans have more context, AI should not decide first" is true, and it's broad. What does it look like on a Tuesday?
My co-host Trisha Merriam pushed for specifics on the show. She asked Erin Wiggers where people repeatedly start with AI and it doesn't pan out.
Erin's answer started with a reframe.
"I think don't let it decide, let it surface the decision."
And what it buys you:
"Having it where you're in the driver's seat all the time and not just letting it make decisions. You're in a better spot. And you at least are aware that those decisions were made."
Set yourself up for the moment AI asks you a question, and you're still the one deciding.
