Would a company ship a legal tool it hadn't vetted?

Hesitant to use AI for legal questions? Nico asks who carries the liability.

On Monday's show my co-host Nico Lafakis took on that hesitation about using Claude for legal work: "Really? Because they built it for that."

His reasoning: "If they were concerned with liability, of all the things to have any sort of liability concern with, I would think that it would be legal stuff. So I would think as a company, you would not release a tool to help people do legal stuff unless it was seriously, seriously, seriously vetted."

That's Nico's reasoning about the company's incentives, not legal advice.

If you've held off on using AI for anything legal-adjacent, it's a way to think about what the maker is risking.
