The User Is Going Away. Talking It Out Finishes the Work.
October 21, 2026
What's the missing piece between starting a lot of things and finishing them?
Three moments from Tuesday's show, one from my co-host Nico Lafakis and two from me, about what changes when you can talk your work through with an AI.
1. Nico, on whether screens are going away: "It's not that the UI is going away, it's that the user is going away."
2. Me, on asking Nectar, my AI collaborator (a dot, OpenAI's always-on assistant inside ChatGPT), to find what I needed in an hour-long transcript I hadn't prepped at all: "she's already figured out what I wanted her to see in the transcript, and does not miss a beat."
3. Me, on what finally gets projects finished: "the part I've been missing to hit that last mile to get irons out of the fire is just this feedback loop."
If you build things, or lead people who do, it's a short watch on why talking it through out loud may be the piece you're missing.
