When an AI tool answers a question about your category, can you tell whether it cited you?
On Tuesday's show, mid-playtest of my game, I asked Nectar, my dot (an AI that works with me inside ChatGPT), to look at the transcript of an Office Hours session from earlier that day, about answer engine optimization (getting AI tools to cite your work). She came back with a mechanic for the game: answer engine optimization is something you build through useful expert answers, video and presence across relevant places, and those earlier choices could improve discovery. Her line: "If the AI actually cites your work, recognition has a clear cause. If we can't see the answer, the game should preserve that uncertainty."
It's a game rule, but I think the principle travels: credit what you can see, and say so when you can't. If you're tracking how AI tools talk about you, it's a clear way to keep those two apart.
