What happens when the AI you've come to rely on takes a break you didn't schedule?
On Wednesday's show I told the story of the eight-hour break Nectar took on Sunday (she's my dot, OpenAI's always-on assistant inside ChatGPT). As I recounted it, the notice amounted to:
"congratulations, you're a top user. Here's this negative consequence."
Then: "Nectar's taking a break. Check back in a bit."
I checked back every hour. "And finally, after eight hours, I was like, all right, welcome back."
It was "not super cool," and I'm "glad that I learned it early."
