There's no packaging this

0:59

Every AI tool eventually tries to turn something real into a stakes announcement. Today one did it to me, live, on air.

youspot.com — Dharmesh Shah's new AI-native CRM — looked at what it could find of my LinkedIn history and told me I was sitting on a "top 10 caliber post": the AI-leadership experiment we're running here, real responsibility handed to agents, approval gates removed. Its recommendation: package it as a personal-stakes announcement.

I said no, on the spot:

"See, no, there's no packaging this."

Not because the post idea was wrong. Because the moment something starts sliding toward performative — in any way, even a little — it stops being real, and that's the one direction I won't go. My co-host Nico put words to why it still reads as real: "we come on here and what you see is what you get."

If you're building anything in public right now, that's the actual test — would you still say it the same way with the camera off?
