Why Nico won't play Moneyball
There's a sales math that actually works: enough volume, a small percentage converts, call it done. On today's show, my co-host Nico didn't dispute that math — and turned it down anyway.
His answer, plain: "if you wanna keep playing Moneyball, you go right ahead and keep playing Moneyball. I would rather just have worthwhile conversations."
His reasoning wasn't idealism. If one relationship out of five turns into business and the other four don't, that's still four real conversations — and those are the people who remember you. That's a return the volume play never shows up as, on any spreadsheet.
The clip ends exactly how you'd guess: somebody hands him a business card on the way out, and he waves it off.
