The billing portal debate: self-service billing meets the real world

Self-service billing reads as an easy win - buyers log in, view subscriptions and invoices, pay what they owe, update their own payment methods. Then the counter, from someone who invoices clients for a living: when an accounts payable contact leaves, somebody has to remember to log into one of potentially hundreds of vendors. "I don't see it happening." Where it lands is the useful part - not a mandate, just another way to work with you if you want it.
