Summarize first

If you skip the summary, you're trusting an answer you haven't checked.

We use the word summarize, but what I'm really asking AI is: show me where the context is coming from, and show me that you understand it, matching my expectation for what it is. Sometimes it tells me something I didn't know.

Take a long PDF. You could say, "Read this PDF and give me the top five tips." Or you could say:

"Tell me what you understand to be coming from this PDF."

"It's going to give you the top five tips. But whether or not it's from all parts of the PDF, you haven't confirmed that yet. So don't trust it."

It's like a human conversation where you stop and say, "I said this in the beginning, and now you're saying this." That's how you get on the same playing field.

Ask AI to tell you how it views the context before you ask it for anything else.
