You wouldn't hand a new hire your most important work on day one. What about AI?
In Part 2 of 5 of our AI Readiness conversation, I asked: what's the team doing to trust someone from a starting point?
My co-host Trisha Merriam described a team that puts new people in a back-end pool where their work is checked until someone is confident in their decisions. Her version for AI:
"You're in a box. It's not a penalty box. It's a safety zone."
My co-host Erin Wiggers starts with a pilot group when she rolls out Emergent:
"I always start with a small subset, a little cohort of pilot users… to iron out any issues that are going to come up and figure out how to speak the language of the team that I'm working with. Before trying to go wide with it."
Trisha then recalled how Erin begins AI projects: one life changing thing for one small cohort first.
Onboard AI the way you'd onboard a person, with a safe place to do real work and someone checking it.
