A lot of companies think they have AI leadership because someone's been assigned to watch it.
My co-hosts Trisha Merriam and Erin Wiggers drew the line between that and the real thing, live on the show.
"It's, it's mostly governance and security. It's not, it's not what I would think of as leadership or strategic." — Trisha "Right. Like AI management, not AI strategy or." — Erin "Yeah, I totally. It's like literally just controls. Like, how do we put boxes around it so that it doesn't have access to this or this? Like, that's the extent of what I'm seeing." — Trisha
If the job description is mostly permissions and guardrails, that's management. Strategy is a different job entirely.
