A caution for anyone working on AEO (answer engine optimization): "you're not in charge of Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews at all, like when the query and when Google decides in a very non-deterministic way that it's a good idea to show the user an AI overview."

Spend your energy on what you can steer: "there's lots of other stuff that you can control, so maybe put some energy there instead of trying to make 10 different listicle articles just so you can show up in that AI overview."
