Photos of a listing, a product or a claim, and to see any of them you have to leave the record and open a file link. Per HubSpot's update, file properties can now show image thumbnails right on the record and index pages, and the images can be used as personalization tokens (placeholders that pull a record's value into an email or page) in marketing emails and CMS content. It is opt-in per property.
Ryan Ginsberg had a use for it right away: "I have an actual use case for that right now." A client he is working with has another system putting invoices into company records, and the quick action that creates the email can't set body content with images today. His read of the update: "we can just simply put in the property token and send the email."
I asked him, "You remember how we had to build everything to do this?" His answer: "We created a custom UI extension that allowed them to upload the image, edit the name, toggle through all of the file properties in a carousel."
