If every email send costs credits, each one should earn its place, and HubSpot's Email Variants update gives you a reason to be picky. Per the update, the experience to create and manage multi-language variants has improved, though I caught the catch: it's "not accepting new customers at this time."
Madelyn Donovan on the math: "each send is much more worth the credit now than it would have been before this. Things are going to be so much more targeted, so much more relevant. You would have wanted to spend that credit regardless."
What I'd do first: "get the process figured out first and then just add these variants." Segments carry it: "Segments are very powerful in HubSpot and that's where you start to get help, 90% of the process taken care of by AI, 10% from the human." That 10% is judgment on things like industry and persona: "that's where human judgment and taste is going to come into play."
So when you spend the credits: "Do you want to use those credits to send a generic email or do you want to send the best personalized emails you've ever seen?" Madelyn's version has a well drink on one side and "a really, really good margarita with salt on the rim" on the other.
