Recommended for you or suggested for you? One word in the add-to-dashboard panel

Does it matter whether HubSpot recommends a report or only suggests one? We spent a few minutes on exactly that. Per the update, the add-to-dashboard panel has a smart layout that surfaces report recommendations, a new recently viewed section, two main sections instead of three, and one renamed label: "recommended for you" is now "suggested for you."

My thoughts: it's "trying to reduce the accountability." Zach Hussion put the difference in human terms: "recommending something versus suggesting something are two different things." Saying "I'm recommending Madelyn as the partner that you work with for this thing" means "I'm giving Madelyn a bunch of credibility here and saying, I vouch for her." The other version is "I suggest you give her a call."

Madelyn Donovan's own question was about the hover preview on reports in that panel: "Was that already a thing?" Her reaction: "That's big to me."

When a tool changes a verb, it's worth asking how much it is willing to stand behind.
