Contracts from payment links: no Revenue Hub seat needed, and the conversation with finance
October 22, 2026
When a buyer completes a payment through a HubSpot payment link, HubSpot can now create the contract automatically and generate invoices through the contract's billing schedule, with no manual work required. The reports that depend on it, like the MRR (monthly recurring revenue) waterfall, then work automatically. It's in beta, and for now it doesn't support order level adjustments, tax, fee and discount, discount codes, buy now pay later, or digital wallet.
The line I'd underline: "you don't need a Revenue Hub seat to use payment links or contracts." And "it probably gets a lot of people into contracts for the first time."
The tool isn't the hard part. Payment links have been "one of the lowest hanging fruits for most orgs that do anything digitally" for six years, and Zach Hussion's point is that "it's a hard one to get people to adopt to." For me, the reason is finance. The conversation I had to have with the CFO meant I "had to suggest changing the way they thought about reconciliation and accounting." My case: "That 10 minutes is going to save the sales team endless amount of hours and endless amount of them complaining about sending quotes for $600 items where the quote process is the same as the $200,000 piece of equipment."
A side note from Zach: "every time I see contracts, I see contacts." Mine is renamed Friends.
If you want contracts to appear on their own, start with the person who reconciles, and bring them what it saves the team quoting.
