When someone wants to skip a step that matters, a good partner says no. Zach Hussion described telling them "it's a critical step. We can't skip that step," and if they won't do it, "we're not the right partner for you."

His worry about letting an assistant build in HubSpot: "I don't know how good AI is going to be at pushing back on certain things when people say, no, I don't want to do it that way." Then the line that stuck: "AI is not going to say that. They're just going to say, yes."
